A Retrofit Challenge

Date 19.08.2019

Our man Dan Gane was on site the other week to retrofit some latest-spec AUMA actuators to replace some 'other manufacturer's' equipment that wasn't meeting the performance spec:

"Today's latest retrofit was a challenge, but very rewarding. The previous set up was 2x 48" gate valves each controlled by 1x IS gearbox, 2x IB gearboxes and an IQ35. Unfortunately too much torque was being lost through the drive train and the 980 turns weren't being met. With the ability to remote mount the AC controls meant we could install the actuator directly onto the IS gearbox and have no loss of torque, but keep the controls accessible for the customer. Now the project can be signed off."
