Testing Electric Actuators for Marine and Industrial Applications: Verifying Performance Where Reliability Matters Most

In marine engineering and industrial processing environments, reliability is not simply a desirable characteristic - it is a fundamental requirement. Whether controlling ballast water systems aboard a vessel or regulating process media in a manufacturing facility, electric actuators are expected to perform consistently throughout many years of operation, often in demanding conditions. Electric actuators are frequently installed on valves controlling safety-critical and process-critical applications. Depending on the product configuration and intended application, testing may also include enclosure protection, torque performance, endurance, vibration and environmental testing to demonstrate suitability for industrial and marine operating conditions. Marine applications present additional challenges. Equipment may be exposed to vibration, salt-laden atmospheres, temperature variation and continuous humidity.
