AUMA Actuators Limited has been awarded Primary Supplier status on its new framework agreement with Severn Trent Water for the supply, maintenance, and support of electric actuators following a rigorous competitive procurement process.
This long-term agreement reinforces AUMA’s position as a trusted engineering partner to the UK water sector and will provide Severn Trent Water with access to a broad portfolio of intelligent electric actuators - including modulating and ATEX options - alongside comprehensive technical support, training, and responsive service delivery.
Severn Trent Water, which delivers essential water and wastewater services to over 4.6 million households and businesses across the Midlands and parts of Wales, is entering AMP8 with a clear focus: environmental leadership, enhanced asset performance, and an exceptional customer experience. As a technology partner, AUMA is positioned to support these goals through its modular, scalable actuator technology and robust lifecycle service offering.
“AUMA’s European manufacturing capability, combined with our UK-based engineering expertise and local stockholding, means we can respond rapidly to site needs while supporting long-term asset resilience,” says Paul Hopkins, Managing Director of AUMA Actuators Limited. “We are proud to build on our relationship with Severn Trent Water and support their AMP8 ambitions through this new framework.”
The awarded framework includes the supply of AUMA’s SA and SQ multi- and part-turn actuators delivering torque up to 32,000 Nm, scalable to 675,000 Nm with gearbox combination, plus full engineering service and support. This encompasses on-site disconnection and removal, repair (on- and off-site), reinstallation, testing, and commissioning.
Martin Hardwidge, AUMA’s Key Accounts Manager for Severn Trent Water, adds: “In AMP8, water companies are facing increasing regulatory pressures around asset health, leakage reduction and energy efficiency. Our role in this framework is to provide more than just product; we’re here to deliver hands-on technical support, ensure operational continuity, and drive system optimisation alongside Severn Trent Water engineers.”
AUMA’s actuator solutions are designed using a modular architecture, enabling highly customisable configurations that meet the specific demands of water and wastewater infrastructure. AUMA’s solutions are aligned with the sector’s digital transformation objectives, with intelligent diagnostics, remote operation capability, and seamless integration with SCADA systems.
This framework represents a key enabler for Severn Trent Water as it progresses through AMP8, providing flexible, scalable actuation solutions that can adapt to both legacy infrastructure and new build projects.
