Steve Penney to run Bath Half Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK

Date 28.01.2020

UPDATE!

Steve says:

"Thank you to everyone who sponsored me for Sunday’s Bath Half Marathon. Conditions were tough but that’s what makes the challenge so worthwhile. Your kind donations helped me reach my target for a very worthy cause."

Congratulations, Steve, from all of us at AUMA UK!

Original story:

Our Commercial Manager Steve Penney will be taking part in the Bath half-marathon.

He says, "On 15th March 2020 I'm running the Bath Half Marathon to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK and in memory of my Uncle Norman.

Prostate Cancer UK's top priority is funding research to stop prostate cancer killing men. They’re investing millions to find better treatments and better tests that can spot fast-growing cancers early, and could be used in a screening programme to save thousands of lives.

If you would like to sponsor me please use the link below. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on the charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this."

Great to see Wessex Water getting involved too, supporting the event by erecting 'Hydrozones' to allow runners to refill their water bottles and help make the event #plasticfree.

They say, "In a landmark new partnership called Refill Not Landfill, Wessex Water will supply fresh tap water to runners all the way around the course – part of a mission to make the Bath Half totally free of single-use plastics by 2021.

Runners will be able to fill up their reusable bottles at Wessex Water’s HydroZones, with tap water stations also available to supply water in compostable cups during the race."
