AUMA Actuators Limited is further consolidating its position as a leading approved framework supplier of electric actuators for valve automation to all of the UK’s water utility companies with the strategic appointment of a new key accounts manager.

Martin Hardwidge joins with a core focus on supporting AUMA’s recently awarded Severn Trent Water actuator supply and maintenance framework. Martin brings a wealth of experience in industrial automation, asset management, and customer relationship development, and will play a pivotal role in ensuring successful delivery and long-term value for AUMA’s framework customers.

“Martin’s appointment reinforces our long-term commitment to our raft of water company framework customers, and the wider water industry,” said Paul Hopkins, Managing Director of AUMA Actuators Limited. “His customer-focused approach, technical background, and commercial experience make him ideally suited to drive collaboration, innovation, and performance.”

AUMA’s selection as the framework supplier for Severn Trent Water represents a significant milestone, reinforcing the company’s reputation as a leading provider of robust, intelligent valve actuation solutions across the UK water sector. The multi-year agreement covers the full supply, service, and technical support of electric actuators and gearboxes across Severn Trent’s asset base.

Martin joins AUMA at a strategically important time, bringing both technical insight and a deep understanding of customer service in the utilities and infrastructure sectors. He has over 30 years of experience in engineering and client management roles and will act as the key interface between AUMA and Severn Trent Water’s engineering, maintenance, and project delivery teams.

In his role, Martin will oversee all aspects of the framework’s implementation, from planning and delivery to lifecycle support, training, and data reporting. He will ensure alignment with Severn Trent Water’s goals around operational excellence, asset resilience, and digital enablement.

“This is a great time to be joining AUMA,” explains Martin Hardwidge. “The company’s burgeoning reputation for high quality solutions, engineering excellence, and customer responsiveness speaks for itself. I’m really looking forward to working closely with the framework team at Severn Trent Water, and other customers, ensuring that our actuator technologies and service support continue to meet the sector’s evolving needs.”

Martin’s appointment also strengthens AUMA’s UK-based team as it continues to support water companies navigating AMP8 priorities, including asset optimisation, sustainability, and smart infrastructure integration.

AUMA’s extensive range of electric actuators, modular gearboxes, and digital control systems are already in use across thousands of UK water industry assets.
